Former Drayton Co-op Dairy

The former Drayton Co-op Dairy in Station Road, 19/00592/REM, appeared for approval of reserved matters concerning materials, massing and landscaping, adjusted since its last airing in 2017 en route to becoming 108 new dwellings. The dairy buildings were demolished 9 years ago. It contained provision for 30% affordable housing, and 192 parking spaces, and is the first scheme of any kind containing accommodation to be approved since the nitrates embargo. The Council believes its nitrates mitigation strategy, which centres on domestic water efficiency through retro-fitting, is sufficient to overcome the barrier.
